Full-Arch Dental Lab Fees: The Invisible Part of an All-on-4 Quote

Implants get the attention, but the prosthetic laboratory can account for a large share of the final bridge cost. Ask who makes the bridge, what material is used and what a remake costs.

A full-arch case has two businesses inside one quote: surgery and prosthetics. The implant fixtures are surgical components, while the bridge is a custom manufactured restoration that requires design, records, materials, milling or printing, finishing and quality control. When clinics market only the implant brand, patients can miss how much of the outcome and cost sits in the laboratory workflow.

2026 U.S. benchmarkCareCredit reported an average All-on-4 cost of $15,176 per arch in April 2026, with a published range of $11,640 to $27,500. That is a planning benchmark, not a quote for your case.

The final bridge is custom manufacturing

The laboratory is not simply selling a block of zirconia or acrylic. It is designing tooth position, contours, occlusion, connection geometry and hygiene access from clinical records. The fee reflects both material and labor.

Ask whether the clinic uses an in-house lab or an external laboratory and whether that changes turnaround or remake logistics.

In-house is not automatically cheaper or better

An in-house lab can shorten communication loops and turnaround. An external specialty lab may bring deep full-arch experience. Either can be excellent or poor.

The useful questions are who is responsible for fit, how verification is performed, what material is specified and who pays for a remake if the first bridge is unacceptable.

Lab fees can be hidden inside “upgrade” pricing

A zirconia upgrade may reflect a higher material and laboratory fee, but the patient should still know what the base bridge is. Otherwise the upgrade comparison lacks a reference point.

Medical travelers should ask about turnaround risk

If a bridge is delayed or needs a remake, your flight schedule can be affected. Ask how often the lab needs extra days and what the clinic does if the final cannot be delivered before your planned departure.

The rule for every full-arch quoteDo not treat a “starting at” number as the total. Confirm the implant plan, extractions, imaging, sedation, provisional, definitive bridge material, lab work, follow-up, warranty and any travel required to finish the case.
Prices, savings, and quote ranges shown here are estimates only. They are for planning and comparison and are not a diagnosis or a case-specific treatment quote. Your actual treatment price can change based on your examination, imaging, tooth prognosis, bone or grafting needs, implant/restorative system, materials, sedation, and treatment sequence. WhatsApp Andy for a real case-specific quote and send your treatment plan, written estimate, X-rays/CBCT, or photos if you already have them.

Frequently asked questions

Can I ask which lab makes my bridge?

Yes. It is reasonable to ask whether the work is in-house or outsourced and what material/workflow is planned.

Is an expensive lab automatically better?

No. Experience, records, design, communication and quality control matter more than price alone.

What if the bridge is not ready before my flight?

Ask the clinic’s delay and temporary-restoration policy before booking nonrefundable travel.
