Financing All-on-4: How Monthly Payments Can Hide the Real Cost

A manageable monthly payment can still represent an expensive loan. Compare APR, term, fees and total repayment before financing a full-arch case.

Updated September 13, 2026 · Cost-first independent information · Not dental advice

Full-arch treatment is large enough that many patients shop by monthly payment rather than total price. That is understandable, but it creates a second layer of pricing: the dentistry has a cost and the money used to pay for it has a cost. A $400 payment can be cheaper or more expensive than a $600 payment depending on term, interest and fees.

2026 U.S. benchmarkCareCredit reported an average All-on-4 cost of $15,176 per arch in April 2026, with a published range of $11,640 to $27,500. That is a planning benchmark, not a quote for your case.

Start with the cash price

Get the complete cash-pay treatment total before discussing financing. If the clinic cannot provide a stable treatment scope, financing comparisons are premature.

Then separate the lender terms from the dental quote so you can see what portion of the final repayment is financing cost.

APR and term matter more than the payment

Extending a loan can reduce the monthly number while increasing total interest. Promotional financing can be attractive but may have deferred-interest conditions or other terms that require careful reading.

Use the lender’s disclosure, not the clinic’s sales estimate, to compare annual percentage rate, term, fees and total repayment.

Medical travel can split the financing need

A Colombia or other international case may require deposits, balance payments, airfare and a later restorative trip at different dates. Decide whether you are financing only treatment or the whole trip.

Do not finance a second-trip cost you have not yet priced.

Build a payment stress test

Model what happens if treatment costs rise because of grafting, extractions or a material change. A loan that uses your entire monthly budget before contingencies leaves no room for the case to change.

The rule for every full-arch quoteDo not treat a “starting at” number as the total. Confirm the implant plan, extractions, imaging, sedation, provisional, definitive bridge material, lab work, follow-up, warranty and any travel required to finish the case.
Prices, savings, and quote ranges shown here are estimates only. They are for planning and comparison and are not a diagnosis or a case-specific treatment quote. Your actual treatment price can change based on your examination, imaging, tooth prognosis, bone or grafting needs, implant/restorative system, materials, sedation, and treatment sequence. Frequently asked questions

Should I choose financing by monthly payment?

No. Compare total repayment, APR, term and fees as well as the payment.

Can I finance dental work abroad?

Options vary by lender and clinic. Confirm whether the financing product can be used for an international provider and whether travel is included.

Should I borrow before my final treatment plan?

It is safer to understand the finalized scope and contingencies before committing to a large financing agreement.
